The property served as a residential rental apartment building with 140 units, providing housing to Coconut Grove residents for nearly five decades.
The Malone Hotel
The property was converted to a hotel operating under Marriott’s Residence Inn brand with 140 full-size hotel units, serving travelers visiting Coconut Grove and the broader Miami area.
Demolition & Site Preparation
Following the hotel’s closure, the existing structure was carefully demolished and the site was cleared and prepared — making way for a development that reflects the Grove’s values of wellness, nature, and community.
A New Chapter — The WELL Coconut Grove
The WELL Coconut Grove proposes 192 residential condominium units designed around a holistic vision of wellness living. Designed by Arquitectonica, with interiors by Meyer Davis, it will offer 111 unique floor plans across 8 stories, along with a 13,000 sq ft wellness center and landscape designed to enhance Coconut Grove’s canopy.

The landscape plan prioritizes canopy trees and native plantings that will mature over time, contributing to Coconut Grove’s tree canopy and providing meaningful shade along Tigertail Avenue.
Improved Public Realm
The project includes significant pedestrian and streetscape improvements along Tigertail Avenue and Mary Street, creating a more walkable, shaded, and inviting environment for the entire neighborhood.
